Three12mo (164x97 mm), (2)-lxx-(2)-312 / (6)-416 / (4)-379-(17) pages, one frontispiece and 13 plates. binding : Contemporary full tan polished calf, gilt flat spine, title and volume number in gilt on lettering-pieces, red edges, marbled endpapers. Caps a little chipped, binding with stains. Spines rubbed. Minor foxing.
First 12mo french edition, after one Folio (1729).
There is an other more current edition, printed at Amsterdam (Herman Uitwerf), also in 1732.
This work, has long been recognized as the most authoritative account of Japan.
